Yesterday’s Reverb 10 prompt asks: What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010?
That’s easy. The party that rocked my socks off in 2010 was the party that kicked off 2010! It was our first (and, it turned out, only) Christmas in our house in the country, and we had plenty of room, so a HUGE group of our nerdtastic friends got together and rang in the New Year at our place. We had tons of food and lots to drink and, while I don’t remember all of the details (because it was a long time ago, NOT because I was drunk…I’m a cosleeping parent!), I do remember that it was an excellent time.
I think my favourite part wasn’t the nighttime celebration, but the day after. There was a snowstorm overnight, and everyone was snowed in with us. I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and everyone LOVED them. And then people tried to drive home and only made it as far as the convenience store, where they very wisely bought an immense amount of Kraft Dinner (or Kraft Mac & Cheese, for you Americans) before turning back. We made a huge pot of KD and we basically ate and lounged about and watched movies/video games all day long. It was my kind of party (aka a party where I don’t have to go anywhere or wear anything fancier than PJs all day).
