Inspiration Tuesday: Hello again!

Happy Tuesday!

I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a wonderful blog-vacation and I will tell you about it tomorrow. Today, being Tuesday, is all about the inspiration. I found a LOT of links over the past two weeks, but I narrowed them down to my absolute favourites. I didn’t think a 21-link post would be a) writeable or b) readable 😛

Goddess Leonie had a two-part post on Roots of She while I was gone. How to Get Grateful (Part one) and (Part two). The first one will make you cry. The second one will make you want to buy a new notebook (you’ll see why).

You don’t want to be fixed
made better
no!
The white bone of your soul wants to be heard.

Jen Louden posted a gem called You Just Want to be Heard, which made me nod my head in agreement. Yes. Yes, I do. Don’t you? Don’t we all? I love it.

Andrea Schroeder has been keeping us up to date with her process of selling her house and moving, and her latest post, And now I’m falling in love with moving, made me want to bust out the cardboard boxes and clear out the clutter and the mountains of garbage we have in here (not actual garbage…most of the time). Seriously inspiring.

Elf Coat by Katwise

A couple of my goddess friends on Facebook posted a link to this woman’s AMAZING upcycled sweater-creations. I believe my exact response was “I WANT! WAAAAAANNNNNNNNT!!!!” They are just…wow.

On a sad day for Canadians, we lost Jack Layton on August 22. Jack Layton was the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP). The fact that we lost him isn’t the inspiration. That part sucks. A lot. But here’s the thing…his parting words to the Canadian people (via a letter he left with his wife) were:

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.

He was an amazing man and a much-beloved politician (yes, they exist). Want to know how beloved? Check out these photos.

Pretty. Damn. Beloved.

And, finally, here is a video that I swiped from Flowtation Devices. It’s an improvised dance that turns into a duet and it is gorgeous. I hope you enjoy it.

…it’s so good to be back.

Have a great day!

P.S. No, you’re not going crazy, the blog looks a little different. It was kind of an accident. I’ll tell you about it later this week.

Inspiration Tuesday: Money, Listening, Tools for Stuckness, and Beauty Everywhere

Happy Tuesday!

I’m currently on a blog-holiday, but I put this together ahead of time! I had some links saved up for you and I wanted to share (through the magic of post-scheduling). Enjoy!

Andrea from ABC Creativity shared a deeply insightful post about her own relationship with money…that basically has me convinced that when she does offer a course about being Creative With Money, I must do EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE to join in so I can learn from her.

Dear Headologist:

What’s the deal with “hearing” and “listening”? I keep seeing them both all over the place, but they seem like they’re supposed to mean different things.  Aren’t they synonyms? When you’re paying attention to what someone says, that could be described with either word, right?

Listening In

Ellie Di, The Headologist posted an article about the difference between hearing and listening that I found truly helpful. I’ve heard an awful lot about witnessing and conscious listening, but no one ever gave me the “Ah ha! I’ve got it!” feeling that I got from Ellie’s post.

Michelle at Meditative Arts re-posted an article about being stuck that she wrote 6 months ago, and it is definitely going in my “HELP!” folder for use in bad times.

In a similar vein, Goddess Leonie shared an older post via Twitter that is also going into my folder: 10 Ways to Fly Beyond Creative Dream Frustrations and Fears

Two more beautiful posts by Goddess Leonie round out this week’s post:
A true story of beauty (and a free poster!)

and

Beauty is Everywhere

Have a beautiful week!

P.S. A reminder: I’ve scheduled one more post for this week, on Friday, and then the blog and I will be back on August 30.

Inspiration Tuesday: Space, Beauty, Bravery, and Big Dreams

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been having trouble with this week’s post. I don’t know exactly why or what’s wrong…words just aren’t coming. So, let’s start with some music! I just found this amazing singer-songwriter:

*basks in the awesome*

*subscribes to the youTube channel*

*feels better*

OK, let’s DO this!

Andrea at ABC Creativity is MOVING! I’m getting a total kick out of seeing the photos of her beautiful house as it goes on the market, and I can’t wait to see what she does with her new loft. In this post, she writes about how important it is to make room for your dreams in your home…and how that can mean breaking out of conventional living room/dining room/office/bedroom thinking. I ADORE this.

This week I discovered a brand-new blog that I am LOVING. The Frozen Writer is by a writer…who hasn’t been writing, and is just starting to do it again. As a dancer who has gone through long periods of not-dancing, I understand this, and I’m excited to read about it. I can already tell it’s going to be an incredible journey!

Ellie Di, The Headologist wrote a post that I LOVED, all about fan-girl love and the subjectivity of bravery. As someone who frequently doesn’t bother to ask for what she wants because of a fear of rejection, I appreciate a story of someone who asks for and gets what she wants. Plus, nerd girls are awesome.

Sara at Soulspackle wrote a beautiful letter to herself on what would have been her Self-Wedding Day. It’s brave and loving and so, so beautiful. ❤ (if you want to know what a Self-Wedding is like, you can check out Goddess Leonie’s Self-Wedding here).

Video time!

Karen Walrond recently travelled to Kenya with 9 other bloggers on a trip sponsored by ONE.org. She was looking for things that were Beautifully Different. As she says in the video: Mission Accomplished.

…So beautiful.

And, finally, The Communicatrix is on a mission to raise $50,000 for charity in 50 days. With only 14 days down, she’s already raised over $21,000! Let’s help her get to $50K! Here’s the video, but if you want ALL the details, go HERE.

Have a great day!
